A Little About Me

A Little About Me

Thank you for visiting my creative space!

I am a woman who is blessed with an amazing, loving, supportive husband and I am the mother of 2 beautiful, very individual, creative daughters, whom I love with all my heart.

Creating is a passion of mine! I have been creating for as long as I can remember. I began sewing in the first grade. I loved to make clothes, accessories and furniture for my Barbie dolls. I made doll furniture out of blocks of wood from my dad's scraps and used scraps of my mom's fabric to make the clothes, pillows, blankets and couch/chair cushions filled with a little bit of pillow stuffing.

My mom also taught me to knit when I was young and I would make simple items such as scarves with fringe. I also wanted to learn to draw and as an adult finally did using some self help books in finding my own style. I love the contrast and detail of pencil on paper! I love to draw portraits, especially babies and children because they are so expressive and have such an innocent, connected nature. You can find my custom drawings through my Etsy shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/yvettemariesfineart. As an adult, I also began painting, playing the guitar, (to go along with my singing) and I took up crocheting, to add to my creative repertoire, all of which I love! If I am not creating in some other fashion or reading or playing music, you will find me crocheting!

I also love to study energy and the power of the human mind & spirit and alternative healing. Some of these methods include Matrix Energetics and Thought Field Therapy. Wow! The field of potentiality I have learned while studying these!

I also LOVE to enable others to create and grow, and that is why I not only have an online shop where I sell my finished products, but also decided to share my patterns so others can create in their own way with a little help. That way you choose the fabrics and yarns, etc., and get to create something completely unique and individual. And, the satisfaction you get from completing your very own creation feels AMAZING, too!

I love to answer any questions you might have about my blog, please feel free to leave a positive comment or question and I will reply as quickly as possible.

Thank you and Have a FANTABULOUS, CRAFTILICIOUS creative day!

  1. Hi, I purchased your Kitty Cocoon pattern thru Craftsy and I have some questions. I am using two strands of the Caron Simply soft yarn and a P hook but I am worried that this is going to work up to be big for a 0-3 month baby. I am usually a tighter crocheter so patterns making up larger isn't usually a problem. Do you have a gauge you could give me prior to the 16th row? Thank you, Corlyn
